Kathmandu, the fifty-seventh day

Today is my second full moon in Nepal and perhaps the explanation of the difficulties of the recent days. Usually I have two full moons positive for one negative, the latter having been the same as this one, the next four should be wonderful. It is colder and colder everyday and the days are getting darker and darker but the city has a new look. It is becoming more relaxed; the multitude of vendors of all kinds made the money of the season and begins to play without worrying about the left over tourists. Even my old lady - with whom I provided each morning in small cakes (which, however, are not always so fresh), but I fear the looks if I passed her for my tea without stopping - was something else. In high spirits - he sometimes brutally insulting the premises - she expressed a volubility boundless in Nepali! ... When I asked a neighbor what she might want to tell me, he replied: "She's stoned, she smoked!  It was no better! Anyway, the day did not start too badly.

I made a Patience play whether I should leave the eleventh in Calcutta. King of Clubs (money, travel?) caused problems but I got through. I will buy my ticket maybe tomorrow.

About technology.
I have twenty-one different Mini-Disks with me, this may seem like a lot but it is very little after fifty-seven days of travel. The "shuffle" function of my "Walkman", failing to modify the content, changes the order in which they make a good novelty. The less liked tracks, arriving by surprise, seem shorter than before when they had already been expected by my tired memory.
